Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono recently hired Charles J. Melino as its new food and beverage manager. Melino has more than 12 years of food and beverage management experience. He previously worked at the Sheraton Burlington Hotel and Conference Center in Burlington, Vt., and at popular casual dining restaurants such as TGI Friday’s and Chili’s. At the country club, Melino will plan menus, oversee supplies and staff training, and coordinate indoor and outdoor functions. He lives in Carmel with his wife, Karolyn, and 9-year-old son, Vincent.

Evelyn Wardwell recently joined the staff at Stonington Furniture of Brewer as a design consultant. Wardwell is a Bangor-area native and has more than 25 years of sales and customer service experience. Wardwell said she loves the challenge of helping people make their house into a beautiful home.
