BANGOR – Bangor International Airport has hired a new marketing manager.

The airport said Monday that Risteen Masters, a 14-year veteran of the tourism and transportation industry, would be responsible for developing the airport’s marketing strategies and public relations, according to a press release.

Masters served for seven years as the director of marketing for Bay Ferries LLC, operator of The Cat, a high-speed ferry service from Bar Harbor and Portland to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

Before her employment at Bay Ferries, Masters served as executive director of the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce and acted as the chairman of Down East Acadia Regional Tourism until recently.

She is a Maine native and graduate of the University of Maine in Orono.

“The airport plays an important role in the economic vitality of the community and region,” Masters said in a news release.

“I look forward to working with the team at [the airport] and helping to continue the good work they have been doing.”
