I have holiday-induced attention-deficit disorder. At Easter, it’s especially severe. Purple Peeps? I’ll take ’em. Another basket? Sure. Because the 30 baskets I already own aren’t quite right. More ornaments for my nonexistent egg tree? Yes!
To complicate matters, this year’s Easter crop is especially adorable. On recent shopping trips to Blue Hill, Camden, Searsport, Belfast and Winterport – not to mention around the corner to Ingrid’s on Buck Street, I’ve found a basket full of cheer. As if I didn’t already have too little closet space.
If you love putting together special baskets for friends and family, you’ll find plenty of options – whether you’re shopping at Target, T.J. Maxx and Dollar Tree or whether you want something boutique-unique.
Rather have someone else do the work? Order a custom-made basket from The Meadow of Blue Hill – an elegant holiday Mecca (374-3785).
Since I’m a do-it-yourselfer, I had a minor shopping overdose at The Meadow. And everywhere else. I even bought a little-girl purse with carrots and bunnies at Ruth Foster’s in Ellsworth. For whom? I have no idea.
What I do know is that everyone on my basket list will have something to celebrate next weekend. Like a pair of bunny socks! And a pompom-covered chick! And candles – what would Easter be without candles?
Oh, wait, I almost forgot the roly-poly egg! And the marzipan candies! And…
