Bangor police summoned two roommates for possession of drug paraphernalia after finding their marijuana pipes in plain view, according to the police report.

Officers responded to a call at 303 Essex St. at 10:35 a.m. Friday from Kimberly Roberts, 32, who wanted her roommate, John Hamm, 41, to leave their apartment.

Roberts told police that they had been arguing all morning and that Hamm had thrown cooked macaroni in her face. Hamm went for a walk and calmed down after the incident, the report stated.

Hamm returned to the apartment to change his clothes and told police he would move out. While he was changing, police noticed two marijuana pipes on the table in his room. Hamm said they weren’t his but because they were in his room the officer told him they were his responsibility and issued a summons.

As the officer was leaving with the pipes as evidence, Roberts blocked his path and asked him not to take one of the pipes because it was hers.

Roberts told the officer that “everybody smokes it and there is nothing wrong with it,” according to the report.

The officer gave a Roberts a summons as well.

A Bangor man who allegedly assaulted his pregnant ex-girlfriend in her hospital room at Eastern Maine Medical Center on Thursday was arrested the next morning.

Nurses called a police officer on duty at the hospital around 10 p.m. Thursday and said that Ransford Bubar, 20, of Bangor came into his ex-girlfriend’s room two hours earlier carrying flowers and a stuffed bunny. When his former partner told him to leave, Bubar ripped up the toy and screamed at her.

Bubar left the room and went into the elevator. Later, he returned to the room with an angel figurine that he said he had stolen from the gift shop because she “wasn’t worth the money,” the police report stated.

Bubar then allegedly tried to force his ex-girlfriend into the bathroom but she managed to pull the emergency cord and nurses rushed in to help. The nursing staff told Bubar to leave and moved the woman to a different room in case Bubar tried to return.

The next day, police arrested Bubar, took him to Penobscot County Jail and charged him with domestic assault, criminal trespassing and the theft of the angel figurine.
