RH Mike Powers 6.75 0-3 18 RH Jonathan Kalkau 1.46 2-0 15

Outlook: The Black Bears look to snap a four-game losing streak after dropping two straight one-run games and yielding 10 runs in three straight. While Maine’s hitters have been very productive (America East-best .294 batting average, 6.1 runs per game), the starting pitchers haven’t gone very deep into games so far. Coach Steve Trimper would love to see a solid mound effort from Hertzler to start UMaine’s second season – America East conference play – against an SBU squad hitting just .224 as a team.
