HOUSTON – Marcus Davis won his Ultimate Fighting Championship match against Pete Spratt Saturday night at the Toyota Center.
The Bangor native improved his UFC record to 15-4 with a win by submission after catching Spratt with an ankle lock at 2 minutes, 57 seconds of the second round. Their bout was part of the featured portion of UFC 69: Shootout.
Davis, a 33-year-old former U.S. Regional boxing champion, was 22-1-2 with 17 knockouts before ending his boxing career and becoming a mixed-martial arts fighter. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound Davis has won his last three UFC matches.
