STANDISH – Chris Doughty had two hits and drove in a pair of runs as Saint Joseph’s College defeated Rivier College 7-2 in the first game of a baseball doubleheader Monday. The Monks completed the sweep with a 1-0 triumph in the second game.

STANDISH – Chris Doughty had two hits and drove in a pair of runs as Saint Joseph’s College defeated Rivier College 7-2 in the first game of a baseball doubleheader Monday.

The Monks completed the sweep with a 1-0 triumph in the second game.

In the first game, Andrew Wood had two singles and scored a run while Keil Martin and Ben Grant-Roy each had a hit with an RBI for St. Joseph’s.

Ben Cutter pitched six innings allowing two runs on one hit with 10 strikeouts for the Monks.

In the second game, Luke Enman drove in the game’s only run on a single.

Kyle Dorr went five innings for St. Joseph’s allowing no runs while surrendering only two hits.
