Paddle Smart April 13

BANGOR – Mark Friday evening, April 13, on your calendar for the seventh Paddle Smart Safety Symposium at the Y on Hammond Street.

Learn from the experts how to be a safer paddler on rivers, ponds, lakes or along the coast. Participants are encouraged to ask questions during interactive workshops and exhibits and learn about paddling safely during pool demonstrations.

The symposium will allow you to try on gear, size yourself up to boats and learn about the paddling gear and clothing. Experienced paddlers will be on hand to talk about lifejackets or places to paddle, clubs to paddle with and where to get instructions.

Concurrent 45-minute workshops will be offered throughout the evening, including on-water safety demonstrations in the pool to show how various canoe and kayak designs perform in emergency situations.

Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening.
