Following is a description of several local climate change rallies being held Saturday, as well as a list of other event locations throughout Maine:
Bangor
Rally from 1 to 3 p.m. in Pickering Square featuring music, speakers, displays and hybrid cars. Free showings of the documentaries “Everything’s Cool” and “An Inconvenient Truth” will be held from about 3 to 5 p.m. in the Penobscot Theater on Main Street.
Bar Harbor
Hike up Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park from 4 to 10 a.m. Groups will meet at Dorr Natural History Museum on the College of the Atlantic campus. Photos will be taken between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the College of the Atlantic dining hall as part of a collage to be sent to Congress.
Belfast
Rally in downtown Belfast on High and Main streets from 11 a.m. to noon. There also will be a contradance Friday at the American Legion Hall as part of a fundraiser for Toddy Pond School.
Blue Hill
Rally, information displays, speakers, free lunch and showings of “An Inconvenient Truth” in downtown Blue Hill from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Camden
Rally and information display at Camden Snow Bowl for a picture from 11 a.m. to noon.
Dexter
Rally with music and speakers on the lawn of Abbot Library at noon.
Ellsworth
Participants will display signs and banners at four busy intersections in the Route 3 shopping district from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Holden
Potluck dinner, showing of “An Inconvenient Truth” and conversation at Holden Congregational Church from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Orono
Rally and picture taking on the University of Maine mall at 11 a.m. Groups then will car-pool to Augusta to participate in a larger rally. Must arrange own transportation.
Other events
Events also will be held in Augusta, Bath, Bethel, Bridgton, Brownfield, Brunswick, Caribou, Chebeague Island, Cumberland, Fairfield, Farmington, Freeport, Friendship, Kennebunk, Lewiston, Portland, Scarborough, Skowhegan, Washington, Waterville, Wiscasset and York.
