‘The Real Wedding Crashers’ promises memorable, refreshing reality television

Refreshing comic relief. That’s the only way to describe NBC’s newest reality show “The Real Wedding Crashers.”

I was doubtful at first. After all, isn’t your wedding day supposed to be perfect? The perfect dress, flowers, cake, reception – and oh yeah, the perfect man,

I wondered who in their right mind would want to risk ruining the happiest moment their life, but soon realized that a few laughs don’t hurt anything.

Let me back up. The whole idea behind the show is that the bride and groom have volunteered to crash their own wedding.

With help from a team of wedding crashers, the couple works to create a memorable wedding that allows them to pull pranks on their wedding party, family and friends.

These crashers don’t fool around, and with producers Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg of “Punk’d,” there’s a lot to live up to.

While watching, some of the pranks seem a little (okay, a lot) over the top. But if you’re not in on the joke, it could be easy not to see what’s going on.

Without giving away the punchline, I can tell you that there are instances where the police get involved, fumigators take over the wedding location and the groom pulls one over on his best man.

In the end, all pranks are admitted and (usually) forgiven, but the road to the reception is bound to be entertaining.

Tune in for a walk down the aisle at 10 p.m. Monday, April 23, on NBC.

A former female wrestler, Scott now owns Old West Bail Bonds in Phoenix, Ariz. The best part is she’s not only the boss of her husband at home, she runs the show at work where he’s part of her bounty hunting team.

I haven’t seen a preview of this one, so I’ll be tuning in for the first time with you during the one-hour special presentation at 9 p.m. Friday, April 20, on WE.
