A cashier at an Old Town convenience store apparently frightened someone attempting an armed robbery early Sunday morning, according to a press release from the Old Town Police Department.

A little after 3 a.m., police went to the Irving Mainway on Main Street in response to a report of an armed robbery. Police said a 6-foot, 160-pound male wearing a black knit cap, a navy blue hooded sweat shirt, bluejeans and tan work boots had confronted the store’s cashier with a gun, but fled on foot.

The suspect is still at large, and police ask anyone with information about the incident to call the Old Town department at 827-6358.
