AUGUSTA – The Forest of Maine Teachers’ Tours has openings for this summer. The focus of this years tours is bioproducts, biofuels and renewable energy from Maine forests and mills.

A Project Learning Tree Workshop will be offered on each tour. Ken Laustsen, Maine Forest Service biometrician, will lead a discussion on meeting society’s needs for materials, chemicals and fuels through research and development of bioproducts.

The tours will be from Tuesday, July 10 to Friday, July 13, of Rangeley Lakes and Western Mountains and from Tuesday, July 17 to Friday, July 20 of Central Maine’s Penobscot-Hancock Highlands.
