Danny Menendez

University of Maine second baseman Danny Menendez was named the America East Baseball Player of the Week. Menendez batted .727 with five runs scored and four RBIs in four games last week for the Black Bears. It was his second Player of the Week honors this season.

Myckie Lugbauer

Myckie Lugbuer of the University of Maine baseball team was selected as the America East Rookie of the Week. Lugbauer hit .455 on the week with four runs scored and three RBIs. He was 4-for-5 in the series opener with a run scored and three RBIs.

Sarah Hamel

University of New England softball player Sarah Hamel was chosen as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week. Hamel appeared in four games posting a 4-0 record and a 0.34 earned run average. Opposing batters hit just .116 versus Hamel.

Leyden Shares

University of New England men’s lacrosse player Dan Leyden was honored as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week. Leyden scored eight goals and handed out four assists in two matches for the Nor’easters. He recorded a career-best seven goals as UNE dropped a 13-11 decision to Curry College on Saturday.
