Brewer Kiwanis Club to host talent show

BREWER – Can you sing, dance, play an instrument or have some other type of talent? Would winning up to $1,000 in a cash prize interest you?

There’s still time to sign up for the Brewer Kiwanis Club’s first ever So You Think You Have Talent Show.

The event is inspired by your favorite television shows, and modified to include all age groups and types of talent. Selected participants will perform to win several $500 cash prizes or a grand prize of $1,000.

Auditions and the talent show will take place at the Brewer High School gymnasium.

Auditions will be held 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays, April 22 and 29.

The dress rehearsal for finalists is Friday, May 18, and the talent show will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 19.

Those interested in auditioning should send a $5 application fee by April 24 to: Brewer Kiwanis, P.O. Box 538, Brewer, 04412. Include name, address, telephone number, age, birth date, gender and description of talent. Those under 18 must include adult contact information: name, relationship and address.

No applications will be available at the time of auditions.

Contestants must bring their own music, instrument, etc.

Applications may be picked up at Mark’s Music in Brewer, Awards Signage and Trophies and Brewer Public Library; all Gold Start Cleaners locations; Bangor Cleaners and Penobscot Theatre Company in Bangor.
