5K road race

OLD TOWN – Old Town YMCA will hold its annual 5K road race on Sunday, April 29. Registration takes place 9-10:20 a.m. The race begins at 10:30 a.m. The cost to participate is $10, $5 family. Runners and walkers are welcome to bring along a dog or other pet. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded in all age groups. Proceeds benefit the Animal Orphanage. For more information, call 827-2658.

5K trail run

BANGOR – Epic Sports is sponsoring the Epic 5K Trail Run through the Bangor City Forest at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 28. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Those who wish to walk also are invited to participate.

The entry fee is $10, $15 the day of the race. Advance registration may be paid at Epic Sports, 6 Central St.

Male and female race winners will receive gift certificates from Epic Sports. Overall winners will receive Vasque trail running shoes.

Proceeds from the race benefit the Bangor Humane Society.
