Outlook: Having been relegated to the Mahaney Dome all week by the weather, UMaine hopes to sustain the momentum it created with last weekend’s sweep of UMBC. The Black Bears won four straight behind excellent pitching, timely hitting and improved defense. New York Tech makes its first trip to Maine after having been an early-season host to the Black Bears in recent years. NYIT took two of three from America East member Albany last weekend and split a March 25 doubleheader with UMaine. NYIT is 11-4 after an 0-10 start. The Bears have won two in a row and six of their last eight.
