BANGOR – Mansfield Stadium will be a busy place Saturday and Monday as the high school baseball season gets under way in earnest in Greater Bangor.

The defending Class A state champion Bangor Rams will play a doubleheader at Mansfield on Saturday, hosting Erskine Academy of South China at 1 p.m. and squaring off against Brewer at 4 p.m. The Bangor-Erskine game originally was scheduled for Wednesday, while the Bangor-Brewer game is a Brewer home game that was postponed from today.

Two more high school games are slated for Mansfield Stadium on Monday. Bangor will play its regularly scheduled game against Lawrence at 4 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by a matchup between Old Town and Brewer. The Old Town-Brewer game originally was scheduled to be held at Old Town.

Old Town will open its season Saturday in a 10:30 a.m. start at Lawrence of Fairfield. That game will be followed later in the day by a makeup game between Lawrence and Messalonskee of Oakland.

Old Town’s scheduled game today against Messalonskee at Oakland has been rescheduled for Tuesday.

Hampden Academy will host its first baseball and softball games of the season at 4 p.m. Saturday against Nokomis of Newport in games that originally were scheduled for today. The Broncos will make up Wednesday’s postponed home games against Skowhegan on Tuesday.
