BANGOR – Sam Bedore didn’t allow a hit and struck out 13 to lead the Bangor Rams to a 5-0 high school softball victory over the Erskine Academy Eagles Saturday.
Bedore walked only three as the Rams improved to 2-0.
Bedore also doubled and drove in two runs and Amy Hackett tallied a triple and a single for the winners. Kristen Eremita had a triple and an RBI and Erica Tweedie chipped in with a double.
Pitcher Ashley Zubahn struck out two batters for the Eagles of South China.

At Pittsfield, Jordan Kennedy pitched a one-hitter as host Maine Central Institute earned the season-opening victory.
Kennedy struck out 12 and walked just one, and was backed by an errorless defense.
Jen Wrin had two singles and two RBIs for the Huskies, while Kristen Sousa doubled and singled and Amanda Hamilton singled twice.
Jen Massessa scattered 10 hits in the circle for Mount View of Thorndike.
Miranda Grotton had the Mustangs’ lone hit, a double.

Bucksport 12, George Stevens 0
At Bucksport, Terren Hall threw a no-hit shutout and struck out 11 to lead Bucksport past George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.
Sarah Winters tallied a triple, single and an RBI and Keely Sullivan doubled with an RBI. Caitlin Bridte drove in two runs for the Golden Bucks.
Misty Redman struck out two for the Eagles of Blue Hill.

At Hermon, Ashley Kelley recorded a shutout and struck out 13 to lead Hermon past John Bapst.

At Hampden, the Broncos’ Ashley Gott tripled with two outs in the bottom of the fourth and scored the game’s lone run on a passed ball.
Hampden’s Lacey Littlefield pitched a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk.
Patrice Cianchette pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk for Nokomis of Newport.
Cianchette also singled twice for the Warriors.

Presque Isle sweeps MDI
At Mount Desert, Allison Donavon scored three times and had one double to help lead Presque Isle to a 12-9 victory over Mount Desert Island in the first game of a doubleheader.
Presque Isle won the second game 11-9 to earn the sweep.
