Representatives from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will be in Washington County today to tour the sites of two proposed liquefied natural gas terminals in Perry and Robbinston.
Staff from FERC’s Office of Energy Projects will conduct a site visit of the Downeast LNG import terminal proposed in Robbinston at 9 a.m. and the Quoddy Bay LNG facilities proposed on Pleasant Point and in Perry at 1 p.m.
“The purpose of the site visit[s] is to provide OEP engineering staff and its consultants a general background of the proposed site layout and equipment placement for their technical design review,” FERC said in prepared statements on both visits. “Issues related to environmental impacts and LNG vessel transit are outside the scope of the site visit.”
All interested parties may attend and provide their own transportation.
Those interested in attending the Downeast LNG visit should meet at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the Calais Motor Inn at 663 Main St. in Calais.
Those interested in attending the Quoddy Bay LNG visit should meet at 1 p.m. in Quoddy Bay LNG’s parking lot on Route 190, at 95 County Road, in Perry.
