Jessica Ghazali
University of Maine freshman pitcher Jessica Ghazali was named the America East co-Pitcher of the Week for softball. Ghazali went 2-0 with a 1.05 ERA in 13 1/3 innings.
Tom Salemy
Colby College senior second baseman Tom Salemy was honored as that NESCAC Baseball Player of the Week. Salemy went 13-for-23, scoring 10 runs and driving in 11 to lead Colby to a 4-1 week.
Alyssa Crowell
Colby College sophomore right-hander Alyssa Crowell was named the NESCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week. Crowell picked up two wins and a save during the week and pitched a two-hitter in a 5-1 win over Bates.
Craig Spann
University of Southern Maine senior Craig Spann was named the Little East Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. Spann won all three of his top-flight singles and doubles matches.
Josh Warren
University of Southern Maine freshman Josh Warren was honored as the Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week by the Little East Conference. Warren had an undefeated week including a 6-0, 6-2 win over Western Connecticut and a 6-2, 6-1 win over Bridgewater State.
Christen Lachapelle
University of Southern Maine senior shortstop Christen Lachapelle was named the Little East Conference Softball Player of the Week. Lachapelle collected 17 hits in 27 at bats including a double, two triples, and four runs batted in.
Magan Blais
University of Southern Maine freshman third baseman Magan Blais was honored as the Softball Rookie of the Week by the Little East Conference. Blais had 12 hits in 27 at bats with two doubles and eight RBIs.
James Spaulding
University of Southern Maine sophomore James Spaulding was named the Little East Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. Spaulding set a school-record in the Holy Cross Decathlon, placing fifth among 22 competitors with 5,698 points; 351 points better than the previous record.
Courtney Parent
University of Southern Maine junior Courtney Parent was named the Little East Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week. Parent had a personal best 3,369 points en route to finishing second in the heptathlon in the Aloha Relays at Bowdoin College.
Katie Morin
University of New England junior shortstop Katie Morin was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week for Softball. Morin went 11-for-21 and scored 11 runs in a 5-1 week for the Nor’easters.
Lauren Overlock
University of Maine at Farmington senior outfielder Lauren Overlock was named the North Atlantic Conference Softball Player of the Week. Overlock went 14-for-26 at the plate with two doubles, four RBIs, and 13 runs scored. She added seven walks and three stolen bases to help UM-Farmington to a 8-0 week.
