FARMINGTON – Erin Porter drove in five runs to lead the University of Maine-Farmington to a 10-4 win over Husson College in the first game, but Cassie Berry had three hits and two RBIs to help the Eagles rebound with a 10-2 win in the second game of Wednesday’s softball doubleheader.
In the first game, Porter slapped a pair of two-run singles while Sarah Defilipp allowed four runs on nine hits in six innings of work. Lauren Overlock doubled and singled twice to drive in three runs for the 11-3 Beavers.
Jordan Pruett hit two doubles, Jenny Rollins and Michelle Mulherin each singled twice, and Shawna Bell hit a solo home run for Husson.
In the second game, Berry hit a home run, a double, and a single while Jenika Kelly added three singles and one RBI for the Eagles.
Defillip slapped three singles and Overlock added two more for the Beavers.

At Waterville Tuesday, Nicole Smith pitched a three-hit shutout, waling none and striking out 10 to lead Thomas College to a 5-0 win over Husson College of Bangor in the first game of a doubleheader.
The Eagles took the second game 7-6.
In the first game, Kim Denbow sparked the Terriers’ offense with a pair of singles and two RBIs while Jen Higgins singled three times, stole three bases and scored three runs.
Jenny Rollins, Janika Kelly and Cassie Berry had a single apiece for Husson.
In the second game, a two-run double by Rollins capped a five-run seventh inning in which the Eagles broke open a 2-2 game.
Britini Adams doubled, singled twice and drove in a pair of runs for the winners.
Brittany Morin paced Thomas with a two-run double and a couple of singles.

Saint Joseph’s 9, Salem State 3
At Standish, sophomore Wade Oliver of Owls Head hit a solo home run, a two-run double, and a single to lead the Saint Joseph’s College Monks by Salem State.
Luke Enman hit two RBI doubles and a single for the Monks. Keil Martin and Travis Adams each singled twice. Craig Woodbrey earned the victory.
