A 70-year-old Milford man who was obviously intoxicated was refused entry into Barnaby’s bar at the Ramada Inn on Odlin Road late Wednesday, but soon after returned and fought with the doorman, striking him in the face, police reported.

After the fight at about 11:30 p.m., David Spruce was arrested by Bangor police officers for simple assault and criminal trespass. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was banned from future entry into the bar. (Nok-Noi Hauger, BDN)

Emery Lee and Sons, a local construction business at 936 Central St. in Millinocket, will have to spend about $16,000 to fix one of its International brand dump trucks after the drain plug to the engine was removed without the company’s knowledge.

A worker started the truck Thursday morning not knowing that the plug had been removed and the engine seized, leaving the truck with substantial damage, according to Millinocket police.

There are no suspects at this time, but the plug is believed to have been removed sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. (Chelsey Ledue, BDN)
