St. Joseph’s tourney host

STANDISH – Saint Joseph’s College in Standish has been selected to host the Association of DIII Independents Northeast Softball Tournament on Sunday.

Second-seeded Saint Joseph’s opens the single-elimination tourney at 10 a.m. vs. No. 3 Newbury, followed by No. 1 Green Mountain vs. No. 1 UMaine-Presque Isle at noon. The winners meet at 4 p.m. after a 2 p.m. consolation game.

J.W. Parks GC now open; Dexter to open Saturday

J.W. Parks Golf Course in Pittsfield has opened for the season and carts are allowed on the nine-hole course. The course opens at 8 a.m.

Dexter Municipal Golf Club will open for the season Saturday at 9 a.m. All regular tees and greens will be in use and riding carts will be allowed, weather permitting. Call 924-6477 for more information.
