Perry sparks Calais Littlefield, Wells lead Old Town

CALAIS – Senior righthander Stephanie Perry allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out 17 to lead the Calais Blue Devils to a 12-2 high school softball victory over the Woodland Dragons Friday.

Lindsey Mingo hit a double and two singles to drive in two runs for Calais. Honor Wilkinson hit a two-run single in the first inning and Courtney Hill added two singles and two runs scored.

Courtney Cochran hit a solo home run in the fourth inning for Woodland. Freshman Shelby Bassett recorded eight strikeouts.

At Hampden, Lacey Littlefield and Michelle Wells combined to allow no runs on two hits and two walks while striking out 12 to lift Hampden Academy over Old Town.

Ashley Gott hit a solo home run in the first inning for Hampden and Kate Paverada had a double and two singles. Eva Shannon singled twice and Brittany Luetjen doubled.

Hannah Morin and Jenna Winegardner singled.

At Calais, Andy Brown singled and scored three runs to lift Woodland over Calais in the rain-shortened game.

J.J. Hanson hit an RBI double for the Dragons and Aaron St. Pierre added an RBI single.

Robbie Rogers hit an RBI single in the fourth inning for Calais.

Bangor 11, Nokomis 0

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Ian Edwards tripled and singled to drive in three runs and lift Bangor over Nokomis of Newport.

Kyle Vanidestine had two singles and three runs scored for the Rams. Edwards, Matt Duplisea and Zane Gray combined to throw a one-hit shutout, striking out 12 and walking three.

Adam Littlefield singled in the first inning for Nokomis.
