Youth from two Belfast churches participated last week in a 30-hour “famine,” or series of events designed to raise awareness of hunger problems. Youth from First Baptist Church, High Street, began to fast after a meal together at noon April 20 and completed their fast at 6 p.m.

Youth from First Baptist Church, High Street, began to fast after a meal together at noon April 20 and completed their fast at 6 p.m. April 21. Youth at nearby First Church in Belfast, Church Street, fasted from midnight April 21 to 6 a.m. April 22. Following in ascending order (from bottom to top) are some of the youth who participated at First Church: Nancy Joslin, Aspen Ventura, Devin Drake, Elizabeth Rauch, Kelsey Woodbury, Cameron Grant, Sierra Ventura, Ellen McDonald, youth leader Jane Grant and Evan Welch.
