Ten-year-old Tony is a funny, inquisitive boy who loves to make others laugh.
He likes to help clean house, especially vacuuming. He enjoys participating in activities and is good with his hands.
Tony continues to make great gains in school and has made the honor roll. He receives special education services at school and is in a self-contained classroom for most of his classes. He is mainstreamed in science and math, with hands-on lessons and instruction.
Tony has contact with his maternal and paternal grandparents, whom he is attached to, and it is essential that contact continue in an adoptive home.
Tony would do best in a family that can provide him with a routine at home. He will benefit from having parents who are comfortable advocating for him and his needs, especially in the school setting.
Tony needs a two-parent family that can share parenting responsibilities.
An adoption subsidy may be available to the most appropriate family.
Tony is one of the 153 children in the care of the state Department of Health and Human Services who are seeking an adoptive family.
Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
