Caribou gains twinbill sweep Thibodeau, Brown pace Vikes

HERMON – Pat Thibodeau and Eric Brown each had two singles and two RBIs to lead the Caribou High School baseball team to a 13-2 win over Hermon in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday.

Caribou defeated Hermon in the first game 8-5.

In the first game, Mike Doucette had three singles for Caribou. Kyle Corrigan doubled and singled while Jordan Haines and Philip St. Peter each singled twice for the Vikings.

Paul Ormsby doubled and singled with two RBIs while Tim Kenerson had a single with two RBIs for Hermon.

In the second game, Travis Estes drove in a pair of runs on a double for Hermon.

At Harrington, Chris Newman hit three singles and drove in four runs as Shead of Eastport shut out Narraguagus.

Jacob Kilton had a double, two singles and three RBIs while Aaron Sullivan and Justin Lewey each singled twice with a pair of RBIs for the Tigers.

Colby Tucker had two singles for Narraguagus.

Chris Howard had a double, two singles and three RBIs for the Shiretowners while Josh McGuire doubled and singled with three RBIs.

DI-Stonington sweeps Schenck

At Deer Isle, Ray Garcia had a three-run home run and a pair of singles to lead Deer-Isle Stonington by Schenck 9-1 in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Deer Isle-Stonington won the first game 10-0.

In the first game, Eben Powers doubled and singled with two RBIs while Ben Hardy added an RBI double for the Mariners.

Ryan Thompson had a single for Schenck.

In the second game, Ben Hardie singled twice with three RBIs while Collin Ciomei added a pair of singles for Deer Isle-Stonington.

Dan Faloon singled for Schenck.

Charlie Haney doubled and singled while Ben Merrill had an RBI single for Central.

Hermon sweeps Caribou

At Hermon, Ashley Kelley had 29 strikeouts in a doubleheader Saturday as Hermon defeated Caribou 6-0 and 13-1.

In the first game, Jaimie Beers and Aaron Arnold each singled with two RBIs for the Hawks.

Kylee Landeen had a triple for Caribou.

In the second game, Monica Gallant had a double, two singles and four RBIs. Beers had three singles and an RBI while Lily Barry singled twice with an RBI for Hermon.

Ali Richards had a double for Caribou.

Bangor Chr. sweeps Katahdin

At Bangor, Jillian French drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead Bangor Christian past Katahdin 14-13 in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Bangor Christian defeated Katahdin 12-3 in the second game.

In the first game, Mariah Bach had three hits and three RBIs while Kristen Pelletier had a double and two singles for the Patriots.

Melissa Duffy and Chelsea Bates each had three singles for Katahdin.

In the second game, Bekah Smith had three singles and three RBIs. Kelly Robinson had three singles and an RBI while Monica Alexander added a pair of singles and an RBI for Bangor Christian.

Melissa Duffy singled twice for the Cougars.

At Rockland, Lauren Adams led off the fourth inning with a single and later scored on Mandy Kennedy’s single to provide the winning run for Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

Jordan Kennedy notched 14 strikeouts while allowing just four hits and one walk for the MCI Huskies. Jill Wrin hit an RBI double.

Baillie Boggs led Rockland with two singles.

Tenan had a double, four singles and five RBIs for the Knights. Kayla Collora was 3-for-3 with a triple, two singles and five RBIs. Jenna Beal, Bethany Grant and Nikki Endre each had two singles.

For Shead of Eastport, Haley Richardson had a single and a walk.
