Maine racewalkers shine at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – Boothbay High School freshman Matt Forgues led a strong Maine contingent of racewalkers at the Penn Relays over the weekend. Forgues walked a solid 52 minutes, 33.40 seconds in the 10-kilometer men’s open racewalk, earning a silver medal in the junior men’s division.

PHILADELPHIA – Boothbay High School freshman Matt Forgues led a strong Maine contingent of racewalkers at the Penn Relays over the weekend.

Forgues walked a solid 52 minutes, 33.40 seconds in the 10-kilometer men’s open racewalk, earning a silver medal in the junior men’s division. He finished ninth overall. Lisbon sophomore Tyler Campbell finished fourth in the junior division and 11th overall, walking a 57:40.05 in his first 10K.

Edward Little of Auburn freshman Christie Bernier posted a 29:16.74 in the 5K event to take sixth place in the junior division and 13th overall, while Lisbon junior Sara Adams placed 23rd in the same event with a 31:35.48.
