HOULTON – Molly Hamel raced home from third on a passed ball with two outs in the top of the 11th to score the game-winning run as the Presque Isle Wildcats edged the Houlton Shiretowners 12-11 in high school softball action Tuesday.

The Shiretowners thought they had won in the bottom of the seventh on a grand slam, but it was ruled the runner hadn’t touched first base, sending the game into extra innings.

Chelsea Glovins led Presque Isle with a double, two singles, and two RBIs; Heather Fowler had two singles, and Hamel added a triple and an RBI. Krista Coffin earned the win in relief, but starter Angela Norsworthy came back to pitch the 11th and picked up the save.

Lainey Herring topped Houlton with a double, three singles, and four RBIs, and Kristen Graham contributed a triple, a single, and an RBI.

At Woodland, Eryn Crowe’s three-run double in the first inning started the Dragons on their way to their third victory.

Ariel Knights posted a three-run homer, double, single, and five RBIs; Courtney Cochran added three doubles and four RBIs, and Cali Anthony had three singles and three RBIs for Woodland. Shelby Bassett registered eight strikeouts over four innings to earn the win.

Nikki Tuck had an RBI double for the Vikings of East Danforth.

At St. Agatha, Megan Korhonen scattered one run on two hits in five innings while striking out seven, and aided her own cause with an RBI triple as Greater Houlton Christian Academy rolled past Wisdom.

Katie Thompson smacked a two-run double and Chelsie Lord an RBI single for the Eagles.

Sadie Dubois hit an RBI single for the Pioneers while Tracy Anderson added a single.

At Stacyville, Jasmine Pelletier hit a home run and a double to drive in four runs to lead Katahdin to victory.

Amanda Charette tied the game when she scored on a sacrifice fly by Liz Goodall in the eighth for the Warriors.

Charette had two singles and a double for Southern Aroostook. Liz Goodall hit three singles and Evangeline Goodall doubled and singled.

Rachel Donahue doubled and singled for the Panthers and Latisa Meece singled twice.

At Rockland, Dom Morrill doubled in a first-inning run, hit a solo homer in the fifth and singled home a run in the sixth to lead Rockland past Waterville.

Mike Marsh had an RBI double in the first and added a singled, Josh Elwell singled twice and Dylan Meklin doubled.

Marsh, Morrill and Meklin combined on a six-hitter.

Curtis Chaput had three singles for Waterville and Eli Fitzgerald had an RBI double.

At Rockport, Jake Grinnell knocked in Christian Pieri with a first-inning double as Camden Hills edged Oak Hill of Sabattus.

Pieri and Noah Burke each added a single apiece as the Windjammers earned their fourth straight victory behind the four-hit pitching of junior Gabe Blodgett.

Ben Rines hit an RBI double while Josh Jillson doubled for Oak Hill.

At Houlton, Josh McGuire broke the 4-4 tie in the sixth inning with a three-run triple to lift Houlton over Presque Isle.

Hunter Caron tripled and doubled with an RBI for Houlton. Chris Howland doubled and singled and Porter Gervais had two singles.

Matt Chase doubled and singled with two RBIs for Presque Isle and Dan McCue added two singles and an RBI.

At Searsport, Caleb Ashey scored the game winning run on a Tom Cameron single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Searsport past George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.

Kyle Ritchie drove in two runs on a pair of singles while Nate Adams and Caleb Ashey each doubled and singled. Matt Bagley and Cameron each added two singles for Searsport.

Lucas Marks had a double and two singles for George Stevens while Otto Warden-Black added a double and a single.

Bryce Colbeth hit a solo homer for Washington Academy while Dan Seamans doubled and James Stauffer singled twice for the Raiders.
