IAN EDWARDS
Edwards, a junior on the Bangor baseball team, led the unbeaten Rams to a pair of victories. He had a triple, a single and three RBIs in an 11-0 win over Nokomis of Newport, then pitched a six-inning one-hitter with six strikeouts and just one walk in a 16-0 victory over Old Town.
Small School (Classes C-D)
MIKE CLEARY
Cleary, a member of the Houlton baseball team, helped the Shiretowners get off to a 3-0 start this season. He pitched a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts and no walks against Fort Kent, adding three singles, a triple and three RBIs to the 9-0 victory. He followed that up with a complete-game five-hitter as the Class C Shiretowners knocked off Class B Presque Isle.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
KEELY SULLIVAN
Sullivan, a junior on the Bucksport softball team, pitched two wins for the Golden Bucks. She allowed three hits in a 7-1 win over John Bapst on Tuesday, adding a two-run home run and a double to go with three runs scored. Sullivan tossed a 1-hitter with 11 strikeouts against Searsport on April 26. She also doubled, singled twice and drove in two runs.
Small School (Classes C-D)
JESSICA TENAN
A sophomore on the Narraguagus of Harrington softball team, Tenan led the Knights to a 29-4 win over Shead of Eastport Saturday. She pitched a 1-hitter with six strikeouts and went 5-for-5 at the plate with a double, four singles and five RBIs.
