Smallwood lifts Katahdin past Hodgdon

HODGDON – Brooke Smallwood had two singles and an RBI as Katahdin of Stacyville scored four runs in the top of the seventh to pull away for an 11-7 high school softball victory over Hodgdon Wednesday.

Chelsie Bates chipped in with two singles for the Cougars.

Heather London had a double, two singles and four RBIs for the Hawks. Taylor Hovey and Amanda Scott finished with a double and a single apiece.

Wisdom 19, Fort Kent 2

At St. Agatha, Kayla Daigle belted an RBI triple and a two-run double as Wisdom cruised past Fort Kent.

Nicole St. Pierre added a two-run double and struck out nine batters for the Pioneers.

Elizabeth Morneault led the Warriors with a single and an RBI.

Washburn sweeps East Grand

At Danforth, Washburn jumped out to a 9-0 in the first inning and cruised to a 24-9 win over East Grand in the second game of a doubleheader.

The Beavers took the first game 14-11.

In the first game, Erica McDougall smacked a grand slam to go along with two singles and finished with four RBIs. Amy Reed singled four times and Amber Reed added two singled for Washburn.

Jackie Dodge had two singles and Nickie Tuck added three singled and a double for the Vikings.

In the second game, Kelsee McLaughlin hit a grand slam, two singles and drove in four runs for the winners.

Amber Palmer doubled and singled, and Amy Reed and Amber Reed both tallied four singles. Kristen Goupille finished with three singles and Alicia Saucier had two singles.

For East Grand, Jody Crone and Courtney Lloyd each hit two singles and a double.

At Waldoboro, Winslow hit three singles and scored three runs in the sixth inning to edge Medomak Valley.

Katie Canan, Courtney Turner, Kristen Cormier, and Ali Krieqet each had two singles for Winslow and Liz Cheeseman tripled.

Melissa Ambridge and Tessa Dodge singled twice for Medomak Valley.

At Mars Hill, Kaylea Collier slammed a three-run home run to lead Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook to the victory.

Sarah Cxioudual smacked a two-run homer to go with a double and a pair of singles. Raye King hit a two-run homer for the Warriors.

Sarah Long hit two doubles and a single to drive in four runs for Central Aroostook while Latisha Neece added four singles and two RBIs.

Brittany Gould hit an RBI double for Skowhegan and Megan Hancock also doubled.

At East Machias, Megan Look hit a two-run home run in the third inning, tripled and singled to drive in four runs and lead Washington Academy past Jonesport-Beals.

Kayla Wood hit a solo homer in the second and singled twice for the W.A. Raiders. Ashley Tilton had a triple, double, single, and three RBIs.

Hannah Carver hit an RBI double for Jonesport-Beals.

At Hermon, Ashley Kelley belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to lift Hermon past Bucksport.

Kelley finished with nine strikeouts and drove in Lily Barry who reached on a single to lead off the seventh. Jaimie Beers added a single and a run scored for the Hawks.

Alex Sullivan had two singles, a double and two RBIs for the Golden Bucks. Terren Hall notched seven strikeouts.

At Deer Isle, Stevie Theoharidis singled, tripled and drove in three runs as George Stevens Academy cruised past Deer Isle-Stonington.

Amy Gellerson tallied three singles and two RBIs and Alida Peake chipped in two singles and two RBIs for the Eagles of Blue Hill.

Anika Powers notched two singles and Erika Hutchins and Goldie Garcia each had an RBI single for the Mariners.

At Lincoln, Jake Smith knocked an RBI triple and RBI single to lead Mattanawcook past Presque Isle.

Tyson Tash tripled and singled twice to drive in two runs and Peter Coggins had two singles and an RBI for the Lynx. Shey Gardner added two singles.

Logan York led the Wildcats with two singles, two doubles and an RBI. Dillon Kingsbury singled in a run and Brennan Shaw hit two singles.

Kyle Dicker had two singles, a double, and three RBIs for the Vikings. Sean Stevenson had two singles, a double, and two RBIs.

In the second game, Steve Pesut had a double and a single for the Washburn Beavers. Thompson had two singles and an RBI.

Stevenson had four singles, Josh Barnes had a triple, double, and single, and Caleb Dicker added three singles.

At Newport, Matt Morin went 4-for-4 with four singles and two RBIs to lead the Skowhegan Indians.

Danny Hayes had three singles and an RBI for the Eagles and Will Barker tripled. Matt Enman allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out nine.

Tyler Robinson led the Warriors with two doubles and two RBIs and Dakota Sleeper doubled and singled.

Scott Geel hit two singles and knocked in a run in the seventh inning for Calais. Jordan Leeman added an RBI single.

Gavin Endre scored the tying run in the seventh on a passed ball for Narraguagus. Matt Beal singled twice to drive in a run and Jeremy Look doubled and singled.

Nate Hines paced the Eagles with an RBI double while Lucas Marks added an RBI single.

At Hermon, Eddie Robbins hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to give Bucksport the lead and eventual win over Hermon.

Chris Maguire added a couple insurance runs with a two-run home run in the seventh for Bucksport. Miles Bisher hit a two-run triple in the fifth and Cam Wadleigh added two singles.

Paul Ormsby had three singles and a double with an RBI for Hermon. Travis Kane had two singles and three RBIs and Zach Deabay hit a two-run double.
