BAR HARBOR – Nick Swanson drove in Josh Dellaittre with a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning as Mount Desert Island rallied for a 5-4 high school baseball victory over John Bapst of Bangor Thursday.

Dellaittre hit an RBI double to tie the game in the seventh for MDI. Ben Clark homered and doubled to drive in two runs. Sammy Stewart tripled and scored a run and Calvin Tweedie doubled and scored for the Trojans.

Alex Yates hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for John Bapst. Tyler King singled twice and Kyle Gallant hit an RBI single for the Crusaders.

At Bucksport, sophomore Ray Wood allowed two hits and three walks while striking out one to lead Bucksport to the shutout win in his first varsity start.

Chris Maguire singled and connected for his fourth homer of the year for Bucksport. Miles Bisher doubled and singled with two RBIs and Steven Klenowski had two singles and two RBIs. Cam Wadleigh singled twice.

At East Sullivan, Evan Alexander struck out 14 in a complete-game effort and helped his cause with a pair of RBI doubles as Sumner rolled past Narraguagus of Harrington.

Steve Carignan singled twice and doubled to knock in a pair for the Tigers. Matt Boyle had two singles and a double and Chris Weaver two singles.

Cory Smith paced the Knights with two singles and an RBI while Blake Chase added two doubles.

At Searsport, Caleb Ashey hit two doubles and drove in three runs to help lead Searsport past Orono.

Tony Raymond had two doubles and a single to lead Orono and Ben Perry singled twice.

At Machias, Shelby Bassett pitched a three-hitter and struck out eight hitters while Heidi Sapier had two singles and a solo home run to lead Woodland by the Bulldogs.

Samantha Moody, Whitney Dennison, and Alyssa Elliott each singled for Machias’ only hits.
