Army Pvt. John L. Thyng has returned to Baumholder, Germany, after being deployed in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Thyng is regularly assigned to the 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, a subordinate unit of the 1st Armored Division based in Baumholder.

Thyng is the son of John and Joanna Thyng of Ashland.

Reunions for Aleutian Island veterans, spouses and guests, WWII or later, will be held on the following dates and locations in 2007:

. June 3-5 in Chillicothe, Mo.

. Aug. 11 in Clio, Miss.

. Sept. 4-6 in Williams, Calif.

. Oct. 26-28 in Archbold, Ohio.

. Nov. 11-13 in Laughlin, Nev.
