Enman lifts Eagles to win Dempsey, LCS/MSSM defeat Central Aroostook

LIMESTONE – Kyle Dempsey drove in four runs with a two-run double and three singles and Matt Enman’s RBI single broke a 9-9 tie in the fifth inning as Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics outslugged previously undefeated Central Aroostook 15-12 in a high school baseball game Tuesday.

Enman had two singles and an RBI for the winners of Mars Hill and Mike Allen contributed an RBI triple.

Blake McCarthy knocked in three runs with a double and a single for Central Aroostook and James Richards delivered two more with a double and a single. Cameron York had two singles and an RBI.

At Ashland, Kevin Baker had a double and two singles with three RBIs as Ashland defeated Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook.

Tony Baker hit four singles and drove in a run while Tyler Cote had a doubles and two singles with an RBI for Ashland. Henry Milligan added two singles and a pair of RBIs for the Hornets.

Dakota Sleeper hit a triple and two singles for Southern Aroostook while Tyler Robinson added a two-run single.

At Fort Kent, Matt Parent allowed one run on one hit while hitting two singles and a double to lead Van Buren past Fort Kent.

Kyle Chasse added a two-run single for Van Buren.

Washburn 9-22, GHCA 2-11

At Washburn, Matt Connolly had a triple and three singles, drove in three runs and scored four times as Washburn used a 16-hit attack to complete a sweep of Greater Houlton Christian Academy.

Connolly had two singles and two RBIs in a 13-run second inning rally and Steve Pesut also knocked in two runs in the inning with a single and fielder’s choice.

Washburn received three singles and an RBI from Trevor Pendexter and two singles and an RBI apiece from Sebastian Viola and Adam Thompson.

Brandon LeBlond had two singles and four RBIs for GHCA. Jaron Gray, Mackenzie Burns and Jeff Holmes had two singles each and Chad Duff belted a two-run triple. Burns had an RBI.

In the opener, Thompson and Nolan Gagnon had RBI singles in a four-run first inning that erased a 1-0 deficit.

Ben Goupille hurled five innings of five-hit, one run (unearned) ball to pick up the win.

Erik Sjoberg doubled and singled for GHCA and Duff singled twice.

At Hodgdon, Morgan Hall scored the game-winning run on a Travis Quint single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Hodgdon past Fort Fairfield.

Hall had three singles for Hodgdon while Seth Dorr added a 2-run double for the Hawks.

Cody Closson doubled and singled while Austin Dufour singled twice with two RBIs for Fort Fairfield.

At Ashland, the Southern Aroostook Warriors of Dyer Brook took advantage of eight Ashland errors and cruised to the win despite recording only four hits.

Amanda Charette hit a triple for the winners.

Whitney Flint tripled and singled for Ashland.

At Fort Kent, the visiting Crusaders took advantage of nine Fort Kent errors en route to the win.

Megan Lajoie and Kasie Ouellette each singled twice for Van Buren.

Shannon Martin doubled and singled to pace the Warriors. Taylor Boucher had two singles and an RBI and Ashley Bouchard two singles.

At Limestone, Julie Peers collected four hits, a double and three singles, and four RBIs as Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics rolled past Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Melanie Allen hit a solo home run and three singles and drove in three runs for the Eagles. Victoria St. Pierre had two singles, a double and four RBIs and Stacey Bernier two singles, a double and two RBIs.

Kayla Day paced the Panthers with a two-run double while Brittany Smith chipped in two singles and two RBIs.

Erica McDougall’s three singles led Washburn while Chelsea McLaughlin doubled and singled.

Becky Colpitts and Jamie Beers each had two singles and an RBI for Hermon.

Lindsay Chase doubled and singled for Foxcroft Academy.
