Harrington sparks Blue win for UM club team

ORONO – Kyle Harrington’s 53-yard interception return set up a 2-yard touchdown run by Eric Whitman that helped lift the Blue team by the White 25-18 in the UMaine Football Club team’s intrasquad game at Alfond Stadium Saturday.

The TD gave the Blue a 19-18 lead and it upped the lead to 25-18 when Andrew Michael scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth. The Blue team also scored a second-quarter touchdown when Mark Ensworth caught a 34-yard pass from Brett Davison. Harrington also scored on a 34-yard run in the second.

The White team opened the scoring in the first quarter when Chris Knox connected on a 17-yard TD pass to Phil Turmelle. Justin Mattos added a second-quarter TD on a 40-yard interception return and scored later in the second from the 1 after he intercepted another pass and returned it to the Blue-14.
