BOYS

Big School (Classes A-B)

PRENTISS SWETT

Swett, a junior pitcher and infielder for the Brewer baseball team, led the Witches to a pair of victories. The right-hander pitched a five-hitter in a 4-2 win at Hampden, allowing no earned runs while striking out eight and walking three. In a win over Nokomis of Newport on Monday, Swett contributed a home run and a two-run triple.

Small School (Classes C-D)

JORDAN BURLEIGH

Burleigh, a pitcher for the Stearns of Millinocket baseball team, threw a no-hitter as the Minutemen defeated Houlton 7-0 and handed the Shiretowners their first loss of the season. Burleigh struck out five batters and walked only one, and contributed three singles and three RBIs to the Stearns offense.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

DANIELLE HUTCHINS

Hutchins, a sophomore at Mount Desert Island, won three individual events at an outdoor track and field meet Friday to help the Trojans score 263 points and earn the team victory. She won the 100-meter dash in 13.17 seconds, the 200 in 27.12 and the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 11 inches.

Small School (Classes C-D)

MICHELLE CHAPMAN

A junior pitcher for the Dexter softball team, Chapman has pitched the 5-0 Tigers to four straight wins, striking out a total of 34 batters (8.5 per game) while walking just two. She also hit five singles and recorded three RBIs.
