DEXTER – Dan Beatham hit a two-out line drive down the left field line for a single to drive in Ethan Woodman from second base in the eighth inning to give Dexter a 7-6 high school baseball victory over rival Piscataquis Community of Guilford on Wednesday.

Beatham added a two-run double in the seventh inning for the Tigers. A.J. McGowen homered and hit three singles, and Rick Stewart hit a game-tying RBI single in the seventh.

Richie Tompkins had a double and two singles with two RBIs for the Pirates. Roy Burdin had a single and two RBIs, and Jeffrey Robinson singled twice.

At Old Town, Jarret Lukas hit a two-run home run in the first and a grand slam in the third. He also pitched a three-hitter to lead Old Town past Lawrence of Fairfield.

Evan Paradis had a double and a single while Dana Leland had two singles and an RBI for the Coyotes.

Nick Lee hit a double for the Lawrence Bulldogs.

At Millinocket, Jared Bussell smacked a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning to lift the Orono Red Riots to victory.

Travis Martin knocked an RBI double and Cory Barnett an RBI single for Stearns.

At Bangor, Penobscot Valley scored the tying and go ahead runs with no outs in the seventh inning on a throwing error to defeat Bangor Christian.

Aaron Saucier doubled and singled to knock in two runs for the Howlers and Brady Nicholson doubled.

Jon Johnson hit a double and two singles to knock in a run for the Patriots and he also recorded nine strikeouts through six innings. Adrian Durkee had two singles and a double. Jared Theriault had two singles and two RBIs and Levi Washburn added an RBI double.

Eva Shannon plated three runs with three singles and Nellie Wood singled three times and drove in a run. Michelle Wells and Lacey Littlefield added two singles each and Wells had an RBI for Hampden Academy. Littlefield and Wells combined on a three-hitter.

Erica Malley doubled and singled for Erskine Academy while Abby Sigfried doubled.
