I assume there was an agreement on the division of funds generated by Hollywood Slots. Now the Legislature wants to change the rules and seek a bigger take of the pot (read “money”). The Hollywood Slots’ response – in part – is to go “all in,” i.e., stating they may leave Bangor. Is Hollywood Slots bluffing?
The Legislature now needs to decide if they will call the bluff or bet. They should remember that Penn National doesn’t need Bangor to be successful, but Bangor and the state need the money that rolls in.
