WATERVILLE – A 2-year-old boy avoided injury after falling 25 feet from a third-floor apartment window because he landed on a discarded tarp, police said.
The child’s mother, Wendy Heath, told police she went to the front door of her apartment to meet a friend when the toddler entered her bedroom and crawled out the window. His fall was broken when he landed on a tarp that had been discarded and piled up under the window.
The child was taken to a Waterville hospital for observation but was not injured in Tuesday morning’s fall, police said.
