Burke, ‘Jammers rally for victory

BELFAST – Noah Burke laced a two-run double in the top of the fifth inning to spark a three-run rally that gave Camden Hills of Rockport a lead it wouldn’t relinquish en route to a 5-3 baseball victory over Belfast Thursday.

Burke knocked a solo home run in the third inning and an RBI double in the first for the Windjammers.

Winning pitcher Phil Hopkins, who allowed three runs on two hits in a complete-game effort while striking out 14, contributed an RBI single.

Zac Carr hit a two-run single in the first for Belfast while John Walsh added a single.

Mount View 6, Medomak 5

At Thorndike, Derek Keller slapped an RBI single through a drawn-in Medomak Valley infield to cap a three-run seventh inning rally for host Mount View as it earned the victory.

Kyle McDonald tied the game with a fielder’s choice RBI, scoring Matt Abbott.

Keller finished with two singles for the Mustangs; Ben Raven hit four singles and Cody Raven added two more and knocked in a run.

Dale Winchenbach paced the Panthers of Waldoboro with an RBI triple and two singles. He finished with three RBIs. Alex Goldrup added two singles and an RBI.

At Eastport, Craig Hastings hit an RBI double and an RBI single to lead undefeated Shead to the five-inning victory.

Tommy Pottle added a pair of singles for the Tigers.

Jamie Farley drove in Calais’ lone run with a single.

At Ellsworth, Pat Kelley returned from an injury to pitch a complete-game six-hitter and lead the Eagles to victory.

Kelley struck out four and issued one intentional walk.

Eric Folmer paced the Ellsworth offense with a double, two singles and two RBIs. His brother, freshman shortstop Brad Folmer, added an RBI single and scored two runs.

Nick Saunders tripled, doubled and scored a run for MDI. Sam Stewart added an RBI single for the Trojans.

At East Sullivan, Washington Academy took the lead in the sixth inning when Todd Jun and Joey Hunter scored on a throwing error.

Hunter hit an RBI double and a single for the Raiders. Jeff Ramsdell allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out eight.

Steve Carignan hit a two-run single in the fourth inning for Sumner. Micky Manning and Evan Alexander doubled. Alexander totaled nine strikeouts.

At Newport, Evan Farley hit an RBI double in the seventh inning to help lead Hampden Academy past Nokomis.

Shawn Smith hit two singles and scored two runs for the Broncos and Patrick Stephens doubled.

Cody Johndro, Jordan Richards and Taylor Gould doubled and singled for Nokomis. Derek Amoroso singled twice.

At Danforth, Courtney Cochran hit three doubles and a triple to drive in four runs and help lead Woodland past East Grand.

Julia Knights tripled, doubled, and singled for the Dragons and Marlene Farley doubled and singled with an RBI. Shelby Bassett recorded 12 strikeouts.

Jodie Crone paced East Grand with two doubles and two runs scored.

At East Sullivan, Carilla Fritz tripled and singled to help lead Washington Academy of East Machias past Sumner.

Lauren Finn and Joslyn Corey singled and knocked in a run for Washington Academy.

Clarissa West had two singles and a double for Sumner and Hollie Stanwood singled four times. Nicky Sargent hit an RBI single and recorded 15 strikeouts.

At Searsport, Kelly Robinson and Katherine Bragg each singled twice and drove in a run to lead the Patriots by the Vikings.

Adrienne Ricci, Monica Alexander and Libby Long each chipped in with two singles for the winners.

Priscilla Robbins singled twice and had an RBI to lead Searsport. Brooke Sherer and Megan Higgins each added run-scoring singles.

At Newport, Lacey Littlefield allowed just one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 12 to lead Hampden Academy past Nokomis.

Kate Plowman singled twice to drive in a run for the Broncos. Eva Shannon and Littlefield both added two singles.

Kayla Eastler led Nokomis with two singles and an RBI.

At Eastport, Emily Wilkinson doubled, tripled and singled to knock in seven runs as Calais cruised to the win in five innings.

Stephanie Perry hit a triple, double and single, driving in two runs for the Blue Devils while Honor Wilkinson singled twice and doubled to plate three more runs.

Patricia Candelmo hit an RBI double for Shead while Whitney Vinson tripled and scored a run.

At Ellsworth, Casey Wyman hit two singles, drove in two runs and scored three runs to lead Ellsworth past Mount Desert Island of Bar Harbor.

Calla Lane had two singles and three runs scored for the Eagles. Emily Miller, Maggie Seavey and Catie Cravens each had two singles and an RBI.

Cravens allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out nine to earn the shutout win.

Emma Damon, Katie Murphy, Katie Dubois and April Winchenbach singled for MDI.
