Police believe the theft of ceramic statues from a Dover-Foxcroft home and damage to Foxcroft Academy’s press box, both of which occurred Tuesday night, were done by the same vandals.

A West Main Street couple reported several ceramic statues had been taken from their backyard on Tuesday, according to Dover-Foxcroft police officer Dennis Dyer. Dyer said the statues, valued at about $500, included turtles, foxes, gargoyles and love birds. Foxcroft Academy officials reported that the lettering on the press box at the football field had been ripped off.

Police ask anyone with information on either incident to call the department at 564-8021. (Diana Bowley, BDN)
