The Maine Icebreakers basketball team captured a state AAU title for ages 11-under (fifth grade) last weekend in Portland and is now trying to raise funds to compete in the national tourney on July 22-28 in Lexington, Ky.

In the state tourney, the Icebreakers won their first game Saturday (49-26) over the Gym Ratz and then beat them again Sunday 50-29 before defeating A Plus Hoops 46-30 in the final.

Members of the team, which has a 20-0 record, are: Alex Campbell, Ben Foster, Isaac Foster, Tyler Thayer, Keegan Quigley, Hunter Boyce, Cameron Scott, Matt Martin, Zachary Gilpin, and Xavier Lewis. The team’s head coach is Mike Dow and its assistants are Ryan Wilson and Peter Gilpin.
