FORT KENT – The 10th Mountain Ski Club will host a summer biathlon competition July 12-15 with the top finishers earning a spot at the 2007 International Biathlon Union Summer World Championships in Estonia in September.

Summer biathlon combines trail running with target shooting. Rifles are not carried during the course of the race but are retrieved upon entering the shooting range. There will be sprint, pursuit, and mass start races.

There will also be citizens events with a paintball biathlon scheduled for Saturday, July 14 and a golf cart sprint challenge on Sunday, July 15.
