Andrews lifts Tigers past CAHS Panthers

FORT FAIRFIELD – Brian Andrews knocked in the eventual game-winning run with a triple in the fifth inning as Fort Fairfield edged Central Aroostook of Mars Hill 3-2 in high school baseball action Monday.

Cody Closson singled twice for the Tigers while Josh Churchill and Josh Booth each added an RBI single.

Sam Clockedile and Logan McCarthy each singled for the Panthers.

At Presque Isle, Shea Gardner doubled and singled twice as Mattanawcook thumped Presque Isle.

Jake Smith and Adam Laird each singled and doubled, and Aaron Flannery and Tyson Tash chipped in two singles apiece for the Lynx.

Stan McCue paced Presque Isle with two singles and an RBI.

At Hodgdon, Chris Howland doubled and singled to knock in four runs as Houlton cruised to the win in five innings.

Mike Cleary racked up three singles, a double and three RBIs for the Shiretowners. Josh McGuire doubled twice and Hunter Caron hit three singles.

Travis Quint singled for Hodgdon.

At Madawaska, Justin Morin struck out 11 batters and tallied two doubles, a single and three RBIs as Madawaska thumped Washburn.

Nathan Beaulieu smacked a triple, two doubles, a single and racked up four RBIs. Ethan Welch added two doubles, two singles and drove in two runs, and Aaron Marquis notched a triple, single and three RBIs. Michal Cannan doubled and singled with two RBIs and Jeff Cyr chipped in with a double, single and three RBIs for the Owls.

Matt Connolly led Washburn with three singles and an RBI.

At Van Buren, Nick Michaud drove in three runs on two singles and a double to lead Fort Kent past Van Buren.

Drew Blier notched two singles and two RBIs for the Warriors.

Kyle Chasse and Craig St. Pierre tallied three singles apiece for the Crusaders.

At Danforth, Mike Cummings had four singles and scored four times to spark a 13-hit attack that powered Shead of Eastport past East Grand.

Aaron Sullivan’s two-run double keyed a three-run third inning that broke a 5-5 tie.

Sullivan also had a single. Chris Newman had two singles and two RBIs, Jake Kilton tripled and doubled and Justin Lewey singled twice and scored four times for the winners.

Ricky Parks had three singles and three RBIs for East Grand and Abe Brittain singled twice and had an RBI.

At Belfast, Jack Davis hit a three-run home run as part of a five-run third inning to lead Belfast by Waterville.

Josh Walsh hit three singles while Dale Dutton doubled and singled with three RBIs. Bryce Ridley added a pair of singles and an RBI for the Lions.

Cam Bishop had two singles and a double while Josh Gaudette had three singles. Harry Polland and Curt Chaput each added two singles for Waterville.

At Fairfield, Shane Walton smacked a single and a triple as Bangor downed Lawrence and remained undefeated.

Jack Hersom singled twice for the Bulldogs.

At Lincoln, Angela Norsworthy scattered six hits, striking out four and walking four, and the Wildcats received two singles apiece from Heather Fowler, Allison Young and Chelsea Glovins en route to the win.

Fowler and Glovins each knocked in a run.

Kristy Burleigh and Bree Hanscom had two singles apiece for MA with Burleigh driving in a run. Deni Nicastro struck out nine for the Lynx.

At Madawaska, Ashley D. Cyr, Steph Nadeau and Crystal Arnoldy each drove in three runs as the Owls outslugged the Beavers.

Madawaska’s Cyr hit three singles while Arnoldy had a double and a single. Ashley A. Cyr also singled three times and recorded an RBI.

Amber Palmer paced Washburn with three RBIs on two singles. Erica McDougall drove in two runs and hit two singles, Amy Reed had a double and two singles and Kristen Goupille singled twice.

Powers added three singles; Shana Weeks led Deer Isle-Stonington with three singles, a double and four RBIs. Goldie Garcia had two singles, a double and three RBIs.

Melissa Duffy and Ronni Robinson paced Katahdin of Stacyville with two singles and two RBIs apiece. Alicia Moore added a triple and an RBI single.

At Dyer Brook, Liz Goodall recorded two singles, a triple and three RBIs to lift the Warriors to the win.

Emily Cummings added a triple and two RBIs for Southern Aroostook, while Sarah Crandall singled and tripled.

Megan Korhonen and Kasey Parker each hit a double, a single and drove in a run for Greater Houlton Christian. Jessica Jago tripled and singled.

Kelsey Daoust hit a solo home run for East Grand and Jackie Dodge and Courtney Lloyd each added two singles and an RBI. Ashlee Kendall chipped in with a double and two RBIs.

At Fort Fairfield, Courtney Churchill hit a three-run triple as Fort Fairfield prevailed in five innings.

Katie Godin notched an RBI double and RBI single for the Tigers and Kelsey Wilson added two singles and two RBIs.

Alex Dame hit an RBI triple and Robin Graham an RBI single for Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Marissa Albert tripled, singled twice and had an RBI for Fort Kent. Shannon Martin and Ashley Bouchard each added two singles.

At Belfast, Stephanie Whittier fired a two-hitter in posting her first shutout of the season, striking out five and walking one, and Jillian Ross doubled home the winning run in a decisive three-run sixth inning that gave Belfast the win.

Liz Brown and Helen Berry had RBI singles later in the sixth.

Ross doubled and singled for the winners while Paige Gardiner and Jess Boucher singled for Waterville and Paige Gardiner tossed a six-hitter.

Megan Lovely knocked an RBI triple and Kiera Walsh had an RBI single for the Bulldogs.
