Nickerson, Haney, Collins lead Devils

CORINTH – Levi Nickerson and Charlie Haney combined on a four-hitter, striking out 10 and walking two, and Josh Collins drove in four runs with a double and a single as Central triumphed 9-1 over Dexter in high school baseball play Monday.

Ben Merrill had two singles and two RBIs for the Red Devils.

Rick Stewart tripled for Dexter.

Jess Mason smacked two singles, a double and a triple and drove in two runs for the Tigers. Jana Kenney chipped in with a single, double and an RBI.

Christin McKenzie and Kasey Sherburne had RBI singles in the third.

McKenzie had two singles for the winners.

Jessica Mason’s triple and Katie Poirier’s two-run single led Dexter and pitcher Michelle Chapman struck out 11.
