At least one hungry thief broke into the Forest Avenue storage building owned by the East Side Little League sometime Monday afternoon or early evening, according to Bangor police.

At least one forager made off with about $80 worth of food from a freezer and caused about $200 in damage to the clubhouse sometime between 8 p.m. Sunday and 3 p.m. Monday.

Police believe the burglar or burglars shoved two picnic tables together outside the building to stand on so he or she could climb onto a second-floor deck. The window in the door that opened onto the deck was smashed, apparently to gain access to the building.

Food was the only thing taken from the building used to store equipment and concessions.

There are no suspects, according to police. (Judy Harrison, BDN)
