MILLINOCKET – Kayla Higgins hit a double, a single, and a home run with four RBIs to lead Sumner of East Sullivan by Stearns 13-4 in high school softball action Monday.

Morgan Traxler hit a home run with two RBIs, while Lona Sargent added a pair of singles for the Tigers.

Amy Collinsworth had a home run and a single with two RBIs for Stearns.

Calais sweeps Houlton

At Houlton, Stephanie Perry struck out 25 batters over two games as unbeaten Calais took two from Houlton, 13-7 and 12-0.

In the first game, Anna Wilkinson knocked a two-run triple while Lindsey Mingo tallied an RBI triple and RBI single to pace the Blue Devils. Courtney Hill added a single and two doubles.

In the second game, Perry pitched a five-inning shutout and aided her cause with a pair of RBI singles. Wilkinson doubled and singled to drive in a pair of runs.

Shead, Woodland post wins

At Eastport, Shead defeated East Grand of Danforth 14-9 in its first game of the day but was beaten by Woodland 32-0 in its second game.

In the first game, Whitney Vinson singled twice, doubled, and drove in three runs for Shead. Dorothy Pottle chipped in with a single and three RBIs.

Nikki Tuck notched two singles and two RBIs for East Grand.

In the second game, Heidi Sappier drove in six runs with a double and three singles to lead Woodland. Ariel Knights added a double, three singles and three RBIs and Julia Nicholas singled twice, doubled, and drove in two runs.

Vinson doubled for Shead.

At Deer Isle, Kristen Kronholm doubled and singled to knock in three runs as the Vikings edged the Mariners.

Brittany Frisbee drove in two runs with a triple for Searsport while Brianna Kingsbury notched three singles, a double, and an RBI.

Audra Eaton hit a three-run homer and an RBI single for Deer Isle-Stonington. Mary Parker had two triples, a single, and two RBIs, and Hannah Siebert a double, single, and three RBIs.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Catie Cravens pitched five innings, allowing one hit with 13 strikeouts, to lead Ellsworth to a 13-1 victory over Foxcroft in the first game of a doubleheader.

Ellsworth defeated the Ponies 16-0 in the second game.

In the first game, Maggie Seavey hit a three-run triple as part of a seven-run fifth inning for Ellsworth.

In the second game, Emily Miller struck out 10 in five innings for the Eagles. Tessa Rockwood had a two-run triple.

Belcher and Peverada each added singles for Hampden, while Nellie Wood tripled and singled. Relief winner Michelle Wells, Ashley Gott, and Eva Shannon posted two singles apiece for the Broncos.

Caleb Dicker singled for the Vikings.

At Houlton, Chris Howland pitched a no-hitter, striking out six and walking one, as Houlton swept a doubleheader from Calais 8-2 and 7-4.

In the opener, Levi Prosser and Hunter Caron backed Howland with two-run doubles in a six-run sixth inning for the Shiretowners.

In the second game, Josh McGuire hit an RBI double and Porter Gervais two singles and an RBI as Houlton picked up the sweep.

Jordan Leeman and Nick Harmon each singled twice for Calais.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Nick Lancisi’s two-run homer capped a four-run fourth inning that erased a 4-1 deficit and the Ponies scored the winning run in the sixth on a hit batter, an intentional walk, a passed ball, and a balk as Foxcroft rallied past the Eagles.

Tyler Weymouth pitched four innings of two-hit, one-run relief to pick up the win, striking out one and not walking anybody.

Tyler Salsbury hit a two-run homer for the Eagles, Nick Hunnewell had a solo homer and a single, and Eric Folmer had a double, single, and RBI.

Cam Bishop led the Panthers with a solo homer and a single, and Curt Chaput had a double and an RBI.

Ray Garcia singled home what proved to be the winning run in the first.

Ciomei aided his own cause with a pair of singles, and Jon Eaton doubled.

Tom Cameron doubled and singled and drove in both runs for the Vikings. Josh Nickerson and Colin Ashey combined on a five-hitter.

At Millinocket, Travis Deabay’s two-run single and Corey Barnett’s RBI tripled keyed a nine-run third inning that gave Stearns its fourth straight win.

Barnett had a single to go with his triple. Jordan Burleigh had two singles and two RBIs, and Brian Bolduc and Jared Manzo had RBI doubles.

Ryan Daley’s RBI double and Matt Boyle’s run-scoring single paced Sumner of East Sullivan.

Ramsdell hit a double and a home run while Bryce Colbeth and Lenfesty each added a pair of singles for WA.

Lukas Marks hit a three-run home run in the first inning, and Jesse Whitney added a double for George Stevens.
