PORTLAND – A California man accused of making threats aboard a flight from New York to Portland pleaded guilty to terrorizing.
Douglas St. Laurent was sentenced to the 48 hours he already served in jail and was fined $1,500 after his plea Tuesday.
St. Laurent, 31, was arrested upon arrival Sunday evening at the Portland International Jetport on JetBlue Flight 606 from New York.
St. Laurent allegedly claimed to have a detonator and said he hoped the plane crashed, Deputy Police Chief William Ridge said. St. Laurent’s guilty plea came a day after he told WGME-TV that he never uttered the word “bomb.”
