Honey sparks Coyotes Old Town tops Broncs for 10th

OLD TOWN – Tyler Honey doubled and singled to drive in three runs and lift Old Town’s baseball team to a 6-4 victory over Hampden Academy Wednesday.

Jarrett Lukas tripled, singled and scored two runs for the Coyotes. Dana Leland had two singles and an RBI and Corey Fournier doubled and scored twice.

Nolan Turner and Mike Mourkas each singled three times for Hampden. Evan Farley hit a two-run single in the first inning and Shawn Smith singled twice.

At Orono, Nate Adams scattered one run on four hits while striking out 13 and walking only one as Searsport prevailed.

Josh Nickerson and Caleb Ashey each had an RBI single for the Vikings.

Ben Stout had an RBI double and Lloyd Bryant singled twice for Orono.

At Guilford, Scott Kelley tripled and singled twice and knocked in a run as Central of Corinth triumphed.

Ben Merrill had two singles and two RBIs and Charlie Haney recorded a two-run single for the Red Devils.

Nathan Johnston had at two-run single for Piscataquis.

At Dexter, Rick Stewart homered and singled to drive in four runs and lift Dexter over Schenck of East Millinocket.

Gavin Cote hit a triple, two doubles and a single to drive in two runs for the Tigers. Aaron Woodman had a triple, double and two singles with three RBIs and Tim Smith singled twice.

Dan Faloon and Jon Sirois singled twice for Schenck. Ryan Thompson hit a two-run single and Trevor White added an RBI single.

At Lincoln, Chris Maguire hit a three-run home run and added an RBI single to lead Bucksport past Mattanawcook Academy.

Todd Freeman hit two doubles to drive in a run for the Golden Bucks. Eddie Robbins and Pat Dedham singled twice.

Aaron Flannery had a double with three RBIs to lead the Lynx and Alex Bottarelli singled twice.

At Howland, the Stearns Minutemen of Millinocket took advantage of 12 errors and 15 walks by Penobscot Valley en route to the five-inning victory.

Justin Pelkey had two singles and two RBIs while Tyler Emerson had two singles and one RBI for the Minutemen.

Ryan Ware singled and scored two runs for the Howlers.

At Oakland, Mark McCann singled, stole second and scored the winning run on a Nick Curato single in the sixth inning to lead Messalonskee past Brewer.

Joe Dumont hit an RBI double for the Eagles. Nick Fenlason, Ben Seel, Mark McCann, and Curato each hit two singles.

Brad Brown doubled and singled for Brewer and Shawn Sasaki added an RBI single.

Amy Collinsworth homered and singled to lead the Minutemen and Felicia Achorn hit two singles.

Webster had a double and two singles with two runs scored for Belfast and Ross drove in two runs. Brooke Reed recorded nine strikeouts.

Cassandra St. Clair hit an RBI double for Mount View and Kara Tripp added an RBI single.

Jenna Winegartner hit a two-run home run for the Coyotes.

Mandy Kennedy suffered the loss for the Huskies, surrendering four runs on six hits.
