ORONO -University of Maine athletes Michel Leveille and Tal Shpaizer have been named to the ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team.

Leveille played in 40 games for the Black Bears’ hockey team this season, and tallied 19 goals and 25 assists. He graduated earlier this month with a 3.20 grade point average and with a degree in communications.

Shpaizer was named the MVP of the women’s swimming team the last two seasons. She holds school records in the 100 butterfly, 200 IM and is a member of two record-holding relay teams. The business administration and financial economics major has accumulated a GPA of 3.95.
